Casual Course Coordinator - Coral Bell School

About the role

The Coral Bell School of Asia and the Pacific at the Australian National University is looking to appoint one or more Casual Course Coordinators to support the delivery of its courses. The term is casual for Semester 1, January 2027, and the salary follows Casual Sessional Academic rates. Course allocations may change once final enrolment numbers are confirmed.

You will work under the guidance of the Course Convenor and other academic staff, contributing to high-quality teaching, assessment and student engagement. The three listed courses are indicative only: ASIA1035 Introduction to Asian Politics, STST8026 Nuclear Strategy and INTR1021 Understanding Peace and Conflict.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day course delivery activities
• Support students through consultation and academic guidance
• Mark assessments and give timely, constructive feedback
• Attend course team meetings and moderation discussions
• Assist with gradebook administration and assessment processes
• Liaise with the Course Convenor on student progress and course issues
• Support quality teaching and learning outcomes in line with College guidelines

Required profile

• Qualifications and/or experience recognised by the University as appropriate for the discipline area
• Previous teaching or course coordination experience, demonstrated academic achievement in a related field, or professional or industry experience relevant to the course
• Rights to live and work in Australia
• Background check during recruitment; offer is conditional on satisfactory results
