Casual Academic - UQ Business School

About the role

The University of Queensland Business School, based at the St Lucia campus, is seeking expressions of interest from tutors and facilitators to be engaged on a casual basis. Successful candidates contribute to the education of undergraduate and/or postgraduate students in disciplines such as Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems, Management, Strategy & Entrepreneurship, International Business, Marketing and Tourism.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver tutorials
• Mark assessment items
• Conduct student consultations
• Foster a positive learning environment
• Assist in activity-based seminars, tutorials and workshops

Required profile

• Minimum undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 5.0
• Enrolment in a relevant postgraduate program (coursework or HDR) and/or relevant industry experience, ideally in a business or related discipline
• Ongoing unrestricted work rights in Australia
• Demonstrable teaching skills supported by teaching evaluations or other evidence
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in eLearning systems such as Blackboard, or ability to learn new software quickly
• Public speaking and leading small groups highly regarded
