Career Medical Officer – Full‑Time / Part‑Time

About the role

Sante Recruitment is seeking a motivated Career Medical Officer to join Dubbo Private Hospital. This role offers the chance to deliver high‑quality inpatient care in a supportive private‑hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
• Manage inpatient care plans, order and interpret investigations, and prescribe appropriate treatments.
• Respond to Medical Emergency Team (MET) calls and coordinate patient transfers when required.
• Liaise with specialists, GPs, allied health and nursing staff, and participate in discharge planning.
• Participate in clinical handovers, quality‑improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with eligibility to practice in New South Wales.
• Ability to work under the supervision of specialist Visiting Medical Officers.
• Willingness to engage in multidisciplinary teamwork and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Venepuncture and intravenous cannulation.
• Airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Defibrillation and intramuscular injections.
• Safe administration of intravenous medications, fluids and blood products.
• Suturing, wound care, bandaging, nasogastric tube insertion and urinary catheterisation.
