General Medicine Consultant – Regional Hospital, Dubbo

About the role

A permanent Staff Specialist / Consultant General Physician position at a major regional referral hospital in Dubbo, NSW. The role combines acute and complex General Medicine practice with teaching, leadership and career development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality inpatient and consultative General Medicine services.
• Manage a broad range of acute and complex medical presentations.
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds and coordinate patient care.
• Supervise, mentor and teach trainees, registrars, RMO’s and medical students.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and service development.
• Contribute to the on‑call roster and engage in education and research activities.

Required profile

• Hold Specialist Registration with AHPRA or be eligible for registration.
• At least 12 months recent Internal or General Medicine experience.
• Eligible Australian‑trained Physician or International Medical Graduate progressing through the RACP Specialist Pathway.
• International Medical Graduate eligible via Competent Authority Pathway (UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, New Zealand) or with a confirmed RACP interview date.
