Business Development Manager – WA

About the role

BlueScope Lysaght is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its team in Wangara, Western Australia. In this newly created position you will shape growth across commercial, defence, renewables, mining and industrial sectors, building strong relationships with builders, contractors, engineers and designers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a sales plan aligned with national and state strategies.
• Identify and convert new opportunities to expand market presence and increase share of wallet.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, technical and customer service teams to execute account strategies.
• Represent the business at key industry and trade networking events.
• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation, using market intelligence and customer insights to shape strategies.

Required profile

• Strong business acumen with extensive experience in developing trusted customer relationships.
• Proven track record in commercial, industrial or defence sectors within Western Australia.
• Willingness to undertake regular site visits, occasional out‑of‑hours commitments and event attendance.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence decisions and build long‑term partnerships.
