Business Development Manager – Mining Equipment (WA)

About the role

Geared Engineering is expanding its presence in Western Australia and is looking for a Business Development Manager to own and grow a territory focused on mining equipment, undercarriage systems and wear components. This fully remote position offers autonomy, no micromanagement and the chance to build a lucrative business from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with blue‑chip mining customers across WA.
• Develop and maintain relationships with maintenance managers, superintendents and procurement leaders.
• Plan and execute territory growth strategies, including targeting specific equipment manufacturers and wear‑part suppliers.
• Present technical solutions, negotiate contracts and close sales while managing the full sales cycle.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to report results and align on strategic priorities.

Required profile

• Established network of contacts within the WA mining sector.
• Proven commercial drive and self‑motivation with a track record of achieving sales targets.
• Technical credibility to discuss equipment undercarriage, wear parts and mobile plant specifications.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions and deliver measurable outcomes.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of mining equipment undercarriage systems.
• Experience with wear components and mobile plant equipment.
• Mechanical trade background (highly regarded).
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret equipment specifications.

• Base salary of $125,000 AUD plus superannuation, vehicle allowance and uncapped commission.
