Business Development Manager - FMCG

About the role

This is a hands‑on, hunter‑type Business Development Manager role for a fast‑growing challenger beverage brand. You will work directly with the founders to open new B2B doors, get product samples into the right hands and turn first orders into repeat business.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect and win new B2B accounts across cafés, gyms, venues, wellness centres, hotels, restaurants, offices, independents and premium trade.
• Attend public and trade events to generate leads.
• Build and maintain a clean pipeline, chasing prospects until they convert or give a clear no.
• Get product into customers’ hands, own the B2B ordering pathway and make re‑ordering effortless.
• Maintain trackers, CRM notes, customer lists and open actions.
• Support founders with sales administration, pricing notes and account coordination.
• Manage day‑to‑day sales operations – purchase orders, order status, supply timing and customer follow‑up.
• Coordinate with Operations, Finance and Marketing to ensure customer needs are met.

Required profile

• Hungry, organised and obsessive about detail with a strong follow‑through mindset.
• Confident people‑person who can walk into a venue cold and start a useful conversation.
• Good understanding of margin, pricing and ROI.
• Relevant experience in coffee, beverages, foodservice, hospitality supply, small FMCG, wellness, fitness, premium drinks or route/distributor sales.
• Either a sales coordinator ready to step up or a hospitality operator moving into commercial sales.
