Business Development Manager - Commercial Projects

About the role

An experienced, results-driven Business Development Manager is sought for the Commercial Projects team, reporting to the State Manager. The role focuses on new business development while also managing and growing a portfolio of existing accounts, with regular travel across Victoria to meet prospective and current clients. An induction and product training program is provided, supported by the manager and local team.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and secure new business opportunities across Victoria
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with merchants, developers, architects and builders
• Maintain regular face-to-face contact with customers and their trades and merchants
• Grow business within existing accounts through proactive account management
• Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profitability
• Prepare accurate pricing and quotations for projects
• Ensure timely delivery of solutions in line with customer needs
• Deliver product training and presentations to clients
• Work with the sales team to develop opportunities in the territory
• Resolve complex client requests and manage escalations
• Report monthly on market, customer and competitor activity
• Achieve the monthly and annual sales revenue budget

Required profile

• Minimum of two years' experience in the industry
• Established relationships with merchants, developers, architects and builders
• Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Willingness to complete in-house product training and flexibility to attend evening events

• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
• Strong planning and time management, able to work independently
