Business Development Manager - Automation & Robotics

About the role

OMRON, a global leader in automation and robotics, is looking for a proactive, commercially driven Business Development Manager to join its Victoria team. Reporting to the Senior State Manager, the role covers sales growth across North and West Melbourne and regional areas such as Albury, with some regional travel. It combines technical sales, territory management, key account development and strategic business development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the assigned territory and drive sales, margin and business growth.
• Build relationships with end users, OEMs, system integrators and key accounts.
• Identify and convert new customers, projects and opportunities.
• Develop growth opportunities in food, medical, logistics, infrastructure and government sectors.
• Sell tailored technical and commercial solutions using OMRON's automation and robotics portfolio.
• Manage the full sales cycle and achieve sales, margin and activity KPI targets.
• Maintain accurate CRM (SFDC) records, forecasts, pipeline and customer activities.
• Work with technical, product and sales teams, visit customers regularly and travel regionally.

Required profile

• Ideally 3-5 years in technical sales, account management or business development in industrial automation or related fields; less experienced candidates with strong technical aptitude and sales potential will also be considered.
• Electrical trade background or a degree in engineering, automation, mechatronics or a related field is highly regarded.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly across Victoria and Albury.

• Strong business development and relationship management skills.
• Negotiation, presentation and communication skills, able to explain technical solutions and their commercial value.
• Ability to manage a territory and sales pipeline independently.
