Business Analyst – Tax Automation & AI

About the role

PwC Australia is building the next generation of technology‑enabled tax services. As a Business Analyst in the Tax Automate team, you will work at the intersection of tax expertise, automation and AI to help reshape how tax is delivered across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with tax partners, directors and managers to identify automation opportunities in compliance, reporting and advisory workflows.
• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and solution designs.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and data teams to deliver scalable automation solutions.
• Help shape the product roadmap, prioritize features and drive adoption through pilots and practice roll‑outs.
• Design and implement workflow automation, define data models and business rules for standardised tax calculations.
• Support integration of Tax Automate with client and internal systems and embed AI‑enabled quality controls.
• Analyse process performance, identify improvement opportunities and manage multiple workstreams.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of tax‑related business processes (compliance, reporting or advisory).
• Ability to translate complex business problems into structured requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging senior partners and delivery teams.
• Experience in professional services or tax environments is preferred.
