Bus Operator

About the role

As a Bus Operator with Metro Tasmania you will join the state’s largest locally owned public transport provider. You will be responsible for safely transporting passengers across Tasmania while representing a company that values safety, wellbeing and inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Operate buses in accordance with schedules and traffic regulations.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers during each journey.
• Provide courteous customer service and assist passengers as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle.
• Follow all safety and operational procedures set by Metro Tasmania.

Required profile

• Valid commercial driver’s licence appropriate for bus operation.
• Clean driving record and strong commitment to road safety.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Team player who values a supportive work environment.

Required skills

• Safe and confident bus driving.
• Knowledge of local road rules and routes.
• Ability to operate bus control systems and follow schedules.
