Building Surveyor I – Adelaide

About the role

Join the Adelaide team of Bureau Veritas as a Building Surveyor, working on high‑profile projects such as defence facilities, healthcare infrastructure and Olympic developments. You will assess project documentation, ensure compliance with the Building Act, Regulations and the Building Code of Australia, and support clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assess project documentation and provide compliance recommendations against the Building Act, Regulations and the Building Code of Australia.
• Manage documentation, ensuring job files and office systems are accurate and completed on time.
• Communicate with authorities and councils, handling requests for information promptly.
• Prepare technical reports outlining compliance requirements and recommendations.
• Participate in internal technical discussions, offering guidance on complex matters.
• Achieve monthly invoicing targets and ensure invoices meet client requirements.

Required profile

• Professional communication skills with clients, colleagues and consultants.
• Relevant university degree (local or internationally recognised).
• Previous certification experience in a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to check documentation accurately and on time.
• Team player with initiative to improve processes.
• Commitment to maintaining CPD requirements in line with accreditation bodies.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Building Act and Regulations.
• Familiarity with the Building Code of Australia.
