Building Maintenance Manager

About the role

UniLodge Edith Cowan University is seeking an experienced, proactive full-time Building Maintenance Manager to lead all aspects of building maintenance at its UniLodge locations in Joondalup and Bunbury. The role ensures a safe, well-maintained living environment for residents, with a strong focus on safety, compliance and operational excellence. It involves overseeing preventative maintenance programs, managing contractors and supporting the day-to-day success of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance across apartments, common areas and external building areas, keeping high standards of safety and presentation.
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs, coordinating suppliers and budgets.
• Manage contractors so that work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and give regular updates and reports to the General Manager.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant legislation, safety requirements and company policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, able to engage confidently with contractors and stakeholders.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to safety, quality and outstanding results.
• Able to manage competing priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia and a current National Police Check.
