Branch Supervisor - Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Recycling Site

About the role

InfraBuild Recycling, a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and World Steel Association Sustainability Champion, is seeking a Branch Supervisor for its Mackay site due to an internal promotion. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the supervisor ensures the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the ferrous and non-ferrous site, leads day-to-day activities to meet production targets, maintains high service standards and drives continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Hold daily toolbox meetings and share WHSE information between management and employees
• Monitor safety standards and behaviours, and help verify that hazards, injuries and incidents are reported, investigated and recorded in Cority
• Help implement WHSE initiatives and corrective actions in the work area
• Ensure contractors follow contractor management processes, including valid permits, completed inductions and assigned supervisors
• Analyse performance trends against market conditions, forecasted production and machinery utilisation and maintenance needs
• Support site scheduling, coordinate daily priorities and communicate expectations on customer service, production, inventory, quality and plant maintenance

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally in recycling, waste, export, manufacturing or heavy industry
• Understanding of preventative maintenance
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
• Previous scrap metal industry experience preferred but not essential
• Forklift licence is advantageous

Required skills

• Computer literacy; experience with MS Office and SAP is desirable
