Bookkeeper/Accountant – Construction Industry

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our construction team in Kogarah. You will manage the full accounting cycle, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support payroll and compliance activities.
Key responsibilities
- Reconcile bank accounts, Amex cards and payables.
- Prepare accounts payable runs and generate ABA files.
- Maintain and manage the Chart of Accounts and allocate costs to ledger codes.
- Create and track categories, generate monthly invoices and maintain contacts in Xero.
- Manage receivables, chase payments and prepare journal entries.
- Produce P&L reports and category tracking reports.
- Prepare and lodge BAS and PAYG.
- Process weekly payroll, manage superannuation and set up employees in Deputy.
Required profile
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience in Australia, preferably in construction.
- Australian permanent residency or citizenship.
- Strong attention to detail, independent work style and proactive attitude.
