Boilermaker

About the role

Komatsu Australia is expanding its fabrication business in Bassendean, WA and is looking for Boilermakers to turn flat steel plates into finished parts. The work covers a wide range of Komatsu equipment, including mining, civil, construction and utility vehicles such as the PC18, 830, 930 haul trucks and the PC3400 series. The roster is Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Produce trays, buckets and transport frames, and carry out repairs and make brackets.
• Interpret and follow fabrication drawings and apply the relevant procedures.
• Work safely to the highest standard and adapt to new processes, methods and systems including SOPs and SWIMS.

Required profile

• Relevant trade certificate.
• Experience in FCAW and MIG/MAG welding in various positions, with the ability to pass weld tests.
• Trade qualified as a Boilermaker welder with experience in new build manufacturing.
• Current motor vehicle, dogman and/or rigger ticket and forklift licence.
• Able to read manufacturing drawings in both imperial and metric standards.
• Organised, driven, reliable and self-motivated.

Required skills

• FCAW and MIG/MAG welding, passing AS1554.1 to 5 and/or D1.1 standards.
• Arc air gouging.
• Understanding of fabrication drawings and procedures.
