Bid Manager – Strategic Infrastructure Tenders

About the role

The Bid Manager will lead and coordinate Egis' response to complex, high‑value tenders across the APAC region, from publication through handover to the delivery team. Based in Melbourne (with flexibility to work from Sydney or Brisbane), the role focuses on strategic infrastructure opportunities such as high‑speed rail and large‑scale alliances.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse newly published tenders, market dynamics and client value drivers.
• Assess project risks and guide go/no‑go decisions in line with group governance.
• Lead end‑to‑end bid response, shaping technical, operational, human and financial solutions.
• Collaborate with legal and finance teams to prepare contract terms, insurance provisions and financial models.
• Build and motivate the bid team, manage the bid budget and ensure timely, compliant submissions.
• Participate in client, partner and subcontractor negotiations and raise risks through proper governance channels.
• Support early delivery phases of successful bids and contribute to lessons‑learned reviews.

Required profile

• Engineering or business school graduate with extensive experience in engineering environments for infrastructure or complex systems.
• Proven track record of leading high‑value, multidisciplinary bids.
• Ability to understand technical, operational, legal, commercial and financial dimensions of projects.
• Strong results orientation, decision‑making under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Full professional proficiency in English; additional language (e.g., Chinese, Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese) is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods.
