Behaviour Support Practitioner

About the role

Inclusion Tree, a national NDIS provider, is hiring a Behaviour Support Practitioner/Specialist. The role is a casual position of up to 38 hours per week, combining work from home with community-based support, under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. It focuses on reducing and eliminating restrictive practices by understanding the person behind the behaviour.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct functional behaviour assessments to find the root causes of behaviours of concern.
• Develop, implement and review individualised, evidence-based behaviour support plans (BSPs).
• Lodge BSPs with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and state-based systems.
• Report on and actively work to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices, advocating for the least restrictive options.
• Provide training and support to participants and their circles of support.
• Uphold the highest standards of practice and compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Behaviour Support, Psychology, Social Work, Allied Health or a related field.
• Proven experience assessing and developing behaviour support plans.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g. AHPRA, AASW).
• Solid understanding of the NDIS, Behaviour Support Practice Standards and restrictive practices legislation.
• Commitment to strengths-focused, trauma-informed practice and to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office.
