Behaviour Support Practitioner

About the role

A permanent full-time Behaviour Support Practitioner is sought in Rockhampton by a provider of clinical services including psychology and behaviour support. The practitioner works with individuals, their families and support networks to help providers implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans that promote safety, choice and independence. The role involves realistic and achievable billing targets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop evidence-based strategies.
• Complete Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support plans.
• Collaborate with families, support workers and allied health professionals.
• Build the capacity of support teams through coaching and mentoring.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Developmental Education or a related field.
• Registration preferably as a Core Practitioner.
• Experience developing and implementing PBS plans in complex settings.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to drive, and an NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain one).

Required skills

• Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong IT, admin and organisation skills, as the role involves billable time.
