Before and After School Care Educator (Casual)

About the role

Randstad Education is looking for casual educators to provide engaging, quality after-school care with providers in the Rockhampton area. Qualified and unqualified OSHC educators are sought, with shifts typically between 2pm and 6pm. Candidates must be willing to travel 30-45 minutes to work and to cover several locations including Rockhampton, Frenchville, Gracemere, Norman Gardens, Wandal and Yeppoon.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise primary school-aged children in outdoor and indoor activities
• Help other staff run fun and educational programs
• Set up outside-of-school clubs and activities
• Provide a safe and secure environment
• Liaise with carers and families

Required profile

• No qualifications strictly required, but experience working with children is essential; alternatively a Diploma or Certificate III in early childhood education, Certificate IV in Education Support, Certificate IV in School Aged Education and Care, or Certificate IV in Children's Studies 4-14 years
• Australian work rights
• Willingness to obtain a state-based Working With Children Card and Food Handling Certificate, and to complete mandatory national child safety training
• Understanding of the My Time Our Place framework and of child safeguarding and mandatory reporting duties
• Two professional referees who can speak to your ability to work with children
