BCA Consultant / Waterproofing Consultant

About the role

Structability, a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering and building design firm based in Southern Sydney, is looking for a motivated, detail-driven BCA Consultant to join its Expert Review Team. The firm mainly designs residential buildings architecturally, structurally and civilly, with most work on rectifying existing buildings damaged by fire, tree or vehicle impact. The role covers a broad range of training across building types and structures in NSW and ACT, with offices in Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect existing structures and suggest upgrading regimes to meet BCA requirements
• Review designs internally for compliance with the BCA, including waterproofing, façade, health and amenity, fire services and fire rating, access and egress, services and bushfire compliance
• Develop Performance Solution Reports to satisfy the Performance Requirements of the BCA

Required profile

• Strong technical report-writing skills with excellent written English
• High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
• Effective communication for stakeholder engagement and site inspections
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Visa sponsorship may be considered

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC)
• Knowledge of industry best practice
