Back End Engineer - Video and Edge

About the role

The Data‑Video and Edge‑Business Management team builds and operates the infrastructure that powers large‑scale video services across TikTok. As a Back End Engineer you will design, develop, and enhance the operations management platform that supports video‑on‑demand and live‑streaming scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of business scenarios and lead business modeling, scenario abstraction, and end‑to‑end technical design for the operations management platform.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate cutting‑edge technologies, including AI‑powered analytics, into the platform to deliver measurable technical and business impact.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build and operate large‑scale video transmission and processing infrastructure supporting on‑demand and live streaming.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong programming fundamentals with clean, well‑structured code and solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, dependable with excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to quickly adopt emerging technologies such as AI.
