Azure Infrastructure Cloud Architect

About the role

The Azure Infrastructure & Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, governing and overseeing the implementation of the Azure landing zone and cloud infrastructure supporting a client environment. The role provides technical leadership across Azure networking, identity integration, security controls, PaaS and IaaS, connectivity, resilience, monitoring and cloud governance, working closely with client stakeholders, security teams, network architects and Microsoft 365 solution teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and governance of the Azure cloud platform and landing zone architecture.
• Define Azure subscription, management group, resource organisation and governance models.
• Design Azure networking, connectivity, DNS, routing and hybrid integration capabilities.
• Define Azure IaaS and PaaS architecture patterns and deployment standards.
• Design cloud security controls, monitoring, logging and operational management capabilities.
• Support integration between Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and security services.
• Define high availability, resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.
• Lead architecture workshops, design reviews and governance activities, and produce architecture documentation and design standards.
• Manage technical risks and dependencies, and support testing, operational readiness and transition to support teams.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship is required to apply; security clearance is highly regarded.
• Preferred: experience designing Azure landing zones for large enterprise or government environments, delivering IaaS and PaaS solutions in regulated or secure environments, and leading cloud architecture in enterprise cloud transformation programs.
