Avionics Technician

About the role

GE Aerospace is seeking an Avionics Technician to join its Brisbane workshop. You will work on bench repairs of electronic and electromechanical aircraft components, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards while supporting both civilian and military programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform component‑level repairs, soldering, testing, replacement and fault‑finding on avionics, battery and electromechanical equipment.
• Maintain workshop efficiency and economic use of resources.
• Collaborate with technicians, Operations Manager, stores, customer service and other GE Aviation personnel to maximise customer satisfaction.
• Ensure product safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to GE Aviation guidelines.
• Manage equipment, tooling and resources to meet internal and customer needs.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of company procedures, quality manuals and safety policies.
• Identify and forward any risks using established systems.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Certificate IV Aeroskills (Avionics) or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in component‑level repairs of electronic and electromechanical aeronautical products.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical service reporting.
• Commitment to high customer satisfaction, product safety and continuous improvement.
