Avionics and Electrical Engineer

About the role

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an Electrical/Avionics Engineer to join the C‑17 Globemaster III sustainment team at RAAF Base Amberley. You will work with the Australian Defence Force to sustain and enhance the C‑17 capability.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate new software and avionics modifications into the C‑17 aircraft and sustainment system.
• Develop verification and certification programmes for software and avionics.
• Assess compatibility of new role equipment and provide hazard management assessments for aviation software, avionics and electrical systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (Avionics, Software, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics).
• Minimum 2 years of avionics engineering experience in an aviation environment.
• Ability to work in a team and engage with external stakeholders.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Avionics engineering and software integration.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC standards and processes.
• Knowledge of Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) and safety authority requirements.
• Experience with verification and certification programmes.
