Auxiliary Plant Attendant (Operator Maintainer)

About the role

Mount Isa Mines is seeking applicants for vacancies within its Mines Power Station for the role of Auxiliary Plant Attendant (Operator Maintainer). Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the role involves a wide range of activities in a multidisciplinary team. It is a residential position based in Mount Isa, Queensland, on an even-time continuous shift roster (7 days on, 7 off, 7 nights, 7 off); flexibility may occasionally be needed for hours and roster arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain power generation, oxygen plants, and both high and low pressure compressed air assets
• Work with tradespeople and engineers in a multidisciplinary team
• Help achieve operational targets while keeping plant performance efficient and reliable

Required profile

• Electrical or mechanical trade qualification
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• A positive, self-motivated attitude and ability to work well in a small, high-performing team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality

A Boiler and/or Turbine High Risk License is desirable, but training will be provided for the right candidate. Applications close on Tuesday 24 November 2026 at 7:00 am.
