Audit Graduate

About the role

StewartBrown, a chartered accountancy firm focused on not-for-profits and charities, is recruiting an Audit Graduate. The graduate joins a supportive, collaborative team that provides external audit services to clients in the aged care, disability and community care sectors, working alongside experienced auditors, managers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and completion of audit engagements across a range of industries and entity types
• Prepare high-quality audit documentation, workpapers and supporting analysis
• Develop an understanding of financial reporting requirements and auditing standards
• Perform testing procedures, investigate information and identify issues and opportunities for improvement
• Review account reconciliations and financial information accurately
• Build professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Learn client systems, processes and controls, and work both within the team and independently

Required profile

• Completing or having recently completed a degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline in 2026
• Eligible and willing to undertake the CA/CPA qualification
• Australian citizenship, residency or legal working entitlements in Australia
• An interest in not-for-profit organisations
• Previous accounting, finance or professional services experience is desirable but not essential

Required skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Curious, analytical and able to ask questions
• Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work
