Associate/VP, CMG Loan Execution

About the role

MUFG is seeking an experienced legal professional to provide transaction support and commercial risk management for syndicated and underwritten loans. The role involves leading deal teams, structuring and negotiating loan documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across Asia‑Pacific.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead deal teams to ensure timely execution of loan transactions.
• Structure, negotiate and draft mandate documentation, term sheets and loan agreements from a commercial perspective.
• Manage loan documentation processes, including review, negotiation and integration with bonds.
• Liaise with clients, external lawyers, trustees and internal stakeholders such as Agency and Loan Administration.
• Monitor commercial and legal risks, regulatory changes in Asia‑Pac and ensure compliance with MUFG’s internal policies.
• Maintain databases of agreements and participate in committees related to regulatory changes.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer (Singapore, English or other jurisdiction) with at least 4 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in top‑tier law firms or in‑house banking/legal roles in Asia.
• Proven track record on loan transactions, including preparation and negotiation of confirmations.
• Familiarity with regulatory matters in Singapore and other Asian jurisdictions.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Legal drafting and negotiation of loan documentation.
• Knowledge of Asian, EU and US financial market regulatory changes.
• Ability to manage large workloads and meet tight deadlines.
