Associate / Senior Associate – Insurance Law (Government & Institutional Claims)

About the role

Join a leading national insurance practice in Brisbane, working closely with Partner Katie Beshara and a high‑performing team of specialist lawyers. You will manage a diverse portfolio of government, institutional and general insurance matters, including complex historical abuse claims.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of insurance claims and advisory matters.
• Advise government, institutional and insurer clients on complex liability issues.
• Work on sensitive and significant historical abuse matters.
• Build strong client relationships and deliver commercially focused legal advice.
• Mentor and support junior lawyers within the team.
• Collaborate with colleagues nationally on large and complex matters.

Required profile

• 3+ years post‑admission experience in defendant public liability claims.
• Experience managing historical abuse matters.
• Strong claims management and strategic litigation skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a busy portfolio.
• Experience managing disclosure processes and large volumes of information.
• Collaborative approach with willingness to mentor junior lawyers.
