Associate Professor – Nursing

About the role

Deakin University is seeking an Associate Professor in Nursing to lead curriculum innovation, research, and industry collaboration across its Melbourne Burwood campus and hybrid work arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead teaching teams to develop and refine innovative curriculum and unit design across disciplines.
• Integrate industry, clinical, and research practices into course development and national collaborations.
• Drive adoption of learner‑centric, research‑informed teaching practices at university level.
• Secure and manage external competitive research funding and commercialisation opportunities.
• Represent Deakin at academic, professional and civic forums and champion citizenship activities.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent qualification, or comparable experience/training.
• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Distinguished scholarly teaching record in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Internationally recognised research reputation with high‑quality publications.
• Successful track record in obtaining competitive external research grants.
