Associate / Engagement Manager - Financial Services

About the role

Oliver Wyman, a management consulting firm of Marsh, is looking for experienced professionals to join its Financial Services practice in Sydney or Melbourne. The practice covers banking, wealth and asset management, insurance and related functions, and works with banks, investors, insurers, central banks and ministries of finance.

Key responsibilities

• Break down complex problems into discrete tasks and direct junior consultants to the key aspects of each problem
• Plan and execute analysis, identify core issues and craft recommendations
• Work side by side with clients and project team members to move projects forward
• Manage small teams and deliver insights into the chosen subject area

Required profile

• At least 4-8 years of relevant Financial Services experience, ideally from a top-tier strategy consulting firm, a strategy department or in-house consulting
• In-depth knowledge of the sector, gained through industry experience or other consultancies
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to run sophisticated analyses and present recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication in formal and informal settings
• Willingness to travel, initiative, creativity and aptitude for analytical work
