Associate Data Leader

About the role

Morningstar is seeking an enthusiastic, results‑driven Associate Data Leader based in Sydney to manage a team of Data Consultants and strengthen relationships with data providers across Australia and New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Data Consultants, setting objectives, providing feedback and fostering skill growth.
• Manage relationships with asset managers, superannuation funds, model/SMA providers and custodians, including on‑site visits to establish acquisition channels.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Product, Sales and Marketing to provide data expertise and represent Managed Investment Data.
• Monitor competitor behaviour and market trends to identify opportunities for Morningstar.
• Unify Australia & New Zealand stakeholders, ensuring alignment with global operational leaders and business initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience with strong financial knowledge and understanding of the asset‑management industry.
• Proven experience leading multi‑location teams and driving business‑operation transformation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and client‑centric skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; unlimited working rights in Australia.

• Strong knowledge of asset‑management data and regulatory environment.
