About the role
An exciting opportunity for an Associate to join the Abuse Law team in Melbourne on a full‑time, permanent basis. You will produce high‑quality legal work for clients while maintaining a practical, commercial focus.
Key responsibilities
- Engage directly with clients to take detailed instructions and build strong relationships.
- Review and interpret complex records, draft clear communications and high‑quality court documents.
- Prepare briefs, liaise with medical experts and allied health professionals, and attend procedural hearings.
- Collaborate closely with barristers to prepare matters for hearing and represent the team in court.
Required profile
- Lawyer with at least 5 years post‑admission experience (PAE) or strong desire to build a career in this area.
- Valid practising certificate and experience in personal injury, medical negligence or litigation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a client‑service focus and commitment to social justice.
