Assistant Manager (Front Office)

About the role

Stamford Plaza Brisbane, a 5-star luxury hotel on the Brisbane River, is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Front Office Department on a permanent full-time basis. You will report to the Rooms Division Manager and be one of three Assistant Managers supporting the Front Desk, Concierge and Communication teams. As Manager on Duty you will lead and set the standard of service from arrival to departure, handling requests, inquiries and complaints professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, professional and courteous service to all guests from arrival to departure
• Handle guest requests, inquiries and complaints appropriately
• Keep the Front Office informed of VIP guest movements, hotel events and local attractions
• Help coordinate hotel activities and the training and development of team members
• Represent the Front Office Manager in their absence
• Maintain punctuality, efficiency and courtesy, and promote the company's values

Required profile

• Experience in an internationally branded hotel with at least 1 year of supervisory experience in Front Office preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of the Front Office, including Night Audit procedures
• Thorough understanding of hotel operations
• Confident, mature and calm disposition with decisive problem solving
• Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills
• Resilient, resourceful and flexible
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain it) is highly desirable
• Australian resident or visa rights to work in Australia

Required skills

• Proficiency with Opera Cloud, Excel, Word and Outlook
• Accuracy in paperwork
• Understanding of hotel emergency procedures, workplace health and safety and risk management
