Assistant Logistics Coordinator

About the role

Select Plant Australia, a specialist plant hire provider, is looking for an Assistant Logistics Coordinator in Sydney. The role supports delivery planning, materials tracking and site coordination across a complex construction project, with hands-on training and mentorship from senior team members. It covers just-in-time deliveries and materials traceability from arrival to installation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery management platform, coordinating just-in-time material deliveries aligned to the construction program and daily installation sequence
• Liaise daily with subcontractors, suppliers and transport providers on delivery details, vehicle types and unloading requirements
• Receive, check and reconcile delivery dockets against purchase orders, and log material identification, labels, storage locations and movements
• Check gate compliance, including driver induction records and vehicle compliance documents, and escalate exceptions
• Record incoming discrepancies and damaged or incorrect materials, and assist with quarantine and supplier returns
• Help coordinate traffic guidance schemes and traffic control plans, track road occupancy and council permit applications, and maintain a register of traffic approvals
• Support weekly reporting on delivery volumes, booking compliance, delays, material discrepancies and inventory accuracy

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final-year student in construction management, logistics, supply chain or a related discipline; previous construction or logistics experience is desirable but not essential
• Valid driver's licence, full-time Australian working rights and a white card or ability to obtain one
• Strong communication skills and good organisation and attention to detail

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Accurate data entry
• Willingness to learn digital delivery and inventory management systems
