Job description
About the role
Elysium Noosa Resort, a luxury property on the Sunshine Coast, is looking for an experienced, detail-driven finance professional to join its team as Assistant Director of Finance. Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will keep the Accounts Department running smoothly and ensure that the financial and operational reports relied on by leaders are accurate, relevant and on time.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Accounts Department day to day, managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Stores teams, run bi-weekly Finance Office briefings and monthly department meetings, and build cross-training and succession planning.
- Prepare daily interface journals from the Property Management System, approve accounts payable journals and creditor payment runs, and issue and manage the month-end timetable.
- Complete monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, produce trial balances, oversee debt collection and bad debt provisioning, and manage travel agent and frequent flyer commission accruals and payments.
- Deliver monthly operating statements, F&B outlet statements, capital expenditure reports, daily revenue reports and weekly wage analysis; help prepare the annual budget and monthly forecasts, and upload budgets into Sun and TM1.
- Oversee timely payment of creditors, wages, commissions and tax, including foreign payments and internet banking; audit weekly payroll and sign off master file changes, pay rate changes and new hires.

- Lodge statutory reports and returns on time (BAS, payroll tax, PAYG withholding, PPCA, workers' compensation, ABS), implement Accor and Sovereign Operations policies and internal controls, and comply with GST, privacy, AML/CTF, superannuation, immigration, Queensland WorkCover and gaming regulatory requirements.
Required profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce; CA or CPA qualified (or working towards it).
- Experience in hotel or hospitality finance, ideally in a supervisory or assistant controller role.

- Experience with Accor policies or audit programs is highly regarded.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems, reconciliations, month-end processes and internal controls.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
- Hands-on experience across the full hotel finance function, from payroll and compliance to budgets and owner reporting.
