Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join Darrell Lea’s Finance Team in Ingleburn. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and Commercial Accountant, gaining exposure to end‑to‑end accounting processes and supporting your CA/CPA journey.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain financial records, including ledger updates, banking transactions and journal postings.
• Review and authorise batch payments and assist with year‑end audit tasks.
• Support the preparation of Business Activity Statements and other statutory filings.
• Reconcile intercompany ledgers and conduct monthly P&L checks.
• Provide general administrative assistance to senior finance staff and collaborate on accounting projects.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capability.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• CA/CPA qualification or in progress, and full working rights in Australia.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting systems.
