Area Sales Manager – Running

About the role

Join Salomon, a global leader in outdoor sports, as an Area Sales Manager – Running. Reporting to the Senior National Account Manager, you will own a portfolio of specialty and sporting goods accounts, driving profitable growth and enhancing brand presence both in‑store and online.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of Running specialty and sporting goods accounts, delivering sales and profit targets.
• Execute seasonal sell‑in processes, including pre‑lines, range presentations, and order‑book management.
• Build and implement joint business plans with key retail partners.
• Analyse sales, margin, and sell‑through data to identify growth and re‑order opportunities.
• Drive in‑store and online execution excellence to enhance the consumer experience.
• Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and eCommerce teams.
• Support trade marketing initiatives, activations, and local events.
• Deliver product training and technical education to retail teams.
• Manage forecasting, budgets, and account planning to meet seasonal targets.

Required profile

• Commercially driven sales professional with a passion for running and the outdoor industry.
• Proven experience in sales, account or territory management within running, sporting goods, or performance footwear/apparel.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to analyse data and drive insights.
• Excellent relationship‑building, communication and influencing skills.
• Solid understanding of omni‑channel retail and eCommerce dynamics.
• Organisational and planning skills to manage multiple accounts.
