Architect – Data Centres

About the role

Goodman is seeking an Architect to join its internal data centre design and development team. This front‑end design position focuses on concept design, site analysis and early‑stage spatial planning for a growing national pipeline of hyperscale and edge data centre projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce concept designs, master plans and massing studies that maximise site utility and support project feasibility.
• Translate customer requirements and technical briefs into functional architectural responses during early project definition.
• Collaborate with internal MEP engineers to integrate power, cooling and service routing into early architectural envelopes.
• Coordinate external architectural consultants across multiple states, ensuring alignment with Goodman design standards.
• Conduct site analysis – topography, access, constraints, utility servicing – across varied site conditions.
• Research local planning controls, zoning rules and state‑based approval pathways (NSW, VIC, QLD) to support concept alignment.
• Produce clear diagrams, site plans, test fits and visual presentation material for proposals and stakeholder discussions.
• Support design reviews, track consultant deliverables and maintain coordination of early‑stage outputs.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master of Architecture.
• 2–5 years of post‑graduate experience in a professional architectural setting.
• Experience with large industrial, infrastructure or mission‑critical projects is highly regarded.
