ANZ Communications Manager (12‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Canva is looking for an ANZ Communications Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to own and shape the company’s communications strategy across Australia and New Zealand. The role will be based in Sydney and operates in a hybrid model, allowing flexibility between remote work and on‑site collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the communications strategy for Australia and New Zealand, covering product, technology, corporate and consumer storytelling.
• Build and nurture relationships with top journalists and editors in the region to keep Canva top‑of‑mind.
• Localise and activate global product launches and campaigns, identifying market‑specific opportunities.
• Lead a year‑round communications programme across earned, owned and experiential channels.
• Partner with regional leaders to support leadership communications, including media interviews and speaking engagements.
• Collaborate with people and leadership teams on internal communications, change initiatives and employee engagement.

Required profile

• Extensive communications experience across Australia and New Zealand.
• Proven track record of leading high‑impact communications programmes and securing coverage in top‑tier media outlets.
• Deep understanding of the Australian and New Zealand media landscape.
• Strong ability to translate global launches into locally relevant stories.
