Android Engineer – Mobile Framework

About the role

The Mobile Framework team builds and maintains the shared libraries, infrastructure, and engineering standards that power ABC's Android and Android TV applications. As an Android Engineer you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and support of these products, ensuring they align with ABC's strategy and technology objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain shared Android libraries and infrastructure used across all ABC mobile products.
• Collaborate with product teams to deliver high‑quality features within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Improve engineering productivity by shortening build, release, and observability cycles.
• Work closely with iOS Framework engineers to keep both platforms aligned.
• Write clear technical documentation to enable other engineers to adopt and extend the foundations you build.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry best practices and share knowledge with teammates.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing native Android applications, preferably using Kotlin.
• Strong ability to design APIs and libraries with clear contracts, sensible defaults, and extensible points.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
