Analytics Developer

About the role

Babcock is looking for an Analytics Developer to join its expanding IT team in Adelaide, reporting to the IXI & Application Services Team Leader. The role turns data into actionable insights, with a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) data, and works closely with the Australasian Information Exploitation team and the HSE function.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS, SharePoint and Excel.
• Translate business requirements into dashboards, reports and analytical insights.
• Maintain and improve the reporting and analytics environment, upholding data quality, system performance and governance standards.
• Support safety performance monitoring, employee wellbeing initiatives, occupational health programs and compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with a Defence security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Relevant technology certifications (e.g. Microsoft BI, SQL, Power BI).
• Proven experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst or Data Engineer.

Required skills

• Business intelligence tools such as the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI), Tableau, QlikView or Cognos.
• SQL queries, Excel and SharePoint for reporting and collaboration.
