Analyst - Cyber Security

About the role

As a Cyber Security Analyst in ANZ’s Security Operations Centre, you will help protect the bank from cyber threats. Working alongside experienced security professionals, you will monitor alerts, investigate suspicious activity and support incident response in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security alerts across endpoint, identity, cloud, network and email environments.
• Assess alerts against established criteria and escalate potential threats.
• Support senior analysts with investigations, evidence collection and response activities.
• Perform log analysis, telemetry review and use SIEM/EDR tools to identify malicious activity.
• Assist in containment, remediation and recovery during cyber incidents.
• Participate in threat‑hunting and detection‑improvement initiatives.
• Follow SOC playbooks, runbooks and maintain accurate records of alerts and actions.
• Collaborate with security specialists and broader technology teams to strengthen the bank’s security posture.

Required profile

• Experience in security operations, threat hunting, incident response or threat intelligence.
• Understanding of network security, systems security and incident response concepts.
• Knowledge of common cyber threats such as phishing, malware and attacker techniques.
• Ability to work in a team‑oriented, high‑pressure environment.
