About the role
The University of Melbourne invites an internationally recognised scholar to occupy the inaugural Allan Myers Chair in Equity and Trusts. This full‑time, continuing faculty position will lead world‑class research and teaching at Melbourne Law School.
Key responsibilities
- Lead pioneering research in Equity and Trusts, producing high‑impact publications and securing competitive funding.
- Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses, innovating curriculum in the field.
- Supervise and mentor PhD candidates and higher‑degree students, fostering the next generation of private‑law scholars.
- Provide collegial leadership across the Law School, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and international partnerships.
- Engage with the legal profession, government and community to enhance public understanding of Equity and Trusts.
Required profile
- Good first degree in law and a doctoral qualification in a relevant legal field.
- Significant expertise in Equity and Trusts with a strong publication record and reputation.
- Extensive experience in graduate‑level teaching, curriculum design and student advising.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring PhD candidates and early‑career academics.
- Strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills.
