About the role

This fixed‑term position (until 30 September 2027) is for an experienced Aircrew Officer to support Babcock's Aviation & Critical Services operations in Adelaide, working with the South Australian Ambulance Service and Police Force.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct safe helicopter flight operations in compliance with CASA, contract and company procedures.
  • Complete all pre‑flight and post‑flight documentation and report any operational or maintenance issues.
  • Perform EMS, Search & Rescue and police missions, providing visual observations and clearances to the pilot.
  • Operate rescue hoist, night‑vision imaging systems and front‑left‑seat duties.
  • Maintain, install and ensure readiness of all operational equipment.
  • Secure cabin configuration and perform aircraft husbandry after each flight.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by senior aircrew leadership.

Required profile

  • Certificate IV in Airborne Operations (AVI40225) or Aviation (AVI40116/AVI40119).
  • Certificate of Competency in Winching and Rappelling Operations.
  • Minimum 500 hours rotary‑wing Aircrew Officer experience.
  • Current CASA Class II Medical Certificate.
  • Current Senior First Aid (HLTAID011) and Advanced Resuscitation (HLTAID015) certifications.
  • Current HUET with EBS, ASIC (red) and Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate (AROC).
  • NVIS Aircrew endorsement and Dangerous Goods Awareness or Pack & Accept certification.

Required skills

  • Certificate IV – Airborne Operations or Aviation.
  • Winching and rappelling competency.
  • Rotary‑wing aircrew operation (≥500 hrs).
  • CASA Class II medical compliance.
  • Senior First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation.
  • HUET with EBS.
  • ASIC (red) certification.
  • Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator proficiency (AROC).
  • NVIS aircrew endorsement.
  • Dangerous Goods handling awareness.
  • Rescue hoist operation and night‑vision system use.
