Agronomist - Technical Services

About the role

Elders is looking for an Agronomist to join its technical services team on a permanent, full-time basis, ideally based in central or southern Tasmania. Agronomists build long-term client relationships and help them run a successful, sustainable and productive business. They work closely with the branch team to give agronomic technical advice, products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite agronomic and technical support to clients, recommending appropriate products and services
• Achieve allocated financial objectives and help with product forecasting and inventory management
• Promote branch staff upskilling through technical advice and product recommendations
• Build professional relationships with a targeted group of existing and new clients
• Identify and develop new agronomic sales opportunities for prospective and existing clients
• Maximise promotional opportunities, including helping at field days and farmer meetings with demonstrations and trial work

Required profile

• Proven track record in sales and previous experience in an agronomy role
• Tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field
• Background in crop, weed, disease, pasture, broadacre, viticulture and/or horticulture
• Comfortable in a collaborative, flexible and agile working environment
