Aged Care Social Visitor Volunteer

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity that supports people to live in their homes, is looking for a warm and friendly volunteer to visit an elderly resident in an aged care home in the Campbelltown area. Visits can include sharing stories over a cup of tea, a walk in the garden, reading together or simply chatting. The role is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, funded by the Australian Government.

Key responsibilities

• Visit an elderly resident in an aged care home in the Campbelltown area
• Share stories, enjoy a walk, read together or simply chat to bring comfort, connection and a sense of belonging
• Meet weekly or fortnightly during weekday hours between 10am-12pm or 1pm-4pm, for 30 minutes to 1 hour

Required profile

• 18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
• Commitment to weekly or fortnightly visits
• Enjoys getting to know others and listening to life stories
