About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity supporting people to live in their homes, is looking for a friendly Social Volunteer to spend one hour each week visiting a gentleman who would like companionship and connection. The client enjoys fishing, camping, nature and trains, so visits can involve sharing stories about the outdoors.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the client once a week for about one hour, offering companionship and conversation.
- Share interests such as fishing, camping, nature and trains, and simply enjoy a good chat.
- Help build a genuine friendship and give the client something positive to look forward to each week.
Required profile
- Aged 18 or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for visits between 9am and 4pm on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday; visits could be weekly depending on availability.
