Adviser, Design and Digital Communications

About the role

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Adviser, Design and Digital Communications for Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), within its Emergency Management Communications branch. EMV coordinates Victoria's emergency management system and the Communications branch educates communities about emergency policies, programs and legislation, issues public warnings, manages media and runs digital campaigns. This is an ongoing, full-time position based in Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Develop visual content and write communication materials for Emergency Management Victoria.
• Produce creative written and visual content for websites, social media, publications and campaigns.
• Create tailored designs for digital and print communications following Brand Victoria, departmental and EMV guidelines.
• Build working relationships with emergency management colleagues, partner organisations and government agencies.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience in communications or a related field.
• Previous experience in communications or digital media.
• Proven ability to write accessible content for different audiences and channels.
• Experience in the emergency management sector is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Professional experience using Adobe Creative Suite is highly desirable.
