Administration Officer – Reception & Admissions (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Administration Officer provides essential reception and admissions support for a rural health service. You will manage the hospital switchboard, ensure smooth communication, and assist clinical and non‑clinical teams to deliver high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the hospital switchboard and direct calls efficiently.
• Provide clerical and administrative support across departments.
• Handle high‑volume enquiries while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Assist with admissions processes and coordinate with clinical staff.
• Remain composed during emergencies and support emergency communication protocols.

• Ability to work effectively in a high‑volume environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and patient confidentiality.
• Motivated, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Capability to stay calm in emergency situations.
